Good to know

from official school communications

The school day

Arrival is 8:15–8:30 AM; dismissal is outside between 3:05 and 3:15 PM. Arrivals after 8:30 sign in for a late pass and join class at 8:40. Nursery Mornings (half day) dismissal is 12:10–12:15 PM — at the side gate on dry days, the main entrance when it rains.

Nursery A daily rhythm

Morning drop-off routine: backpack & jacket in the cubby, water bottle on the fridge (snack on the counter), a bathroom try and hand-wash, then answer the question of the day. Keep extra clothes, rain boots & a rain jacket in the cubby, and send a blanket, crib sheet, or small stuffed animal if your child stays for rest time. Email both Ms. Katherine and Ms. EJ so messages are seen quickly, and keep dismissal plans up to date in the PickUp Patrol app.

After school & half-day nursery

Half-day nursery kids aren’t eligible for after school, and the school suggests holding off on nursery after-school until after December.

Bus notes

No bus home for Nursery Mornings (half day). Nursery & Pre-K riders use school-provided booster seats, and children must be met at their stop by an authorized adult. Questions: lsbus@polyprep.org.

When your kid is sick

Email LSAbsences@polyprep.org and CC the teacher. Keep them home for a fever of 100.4°F+, vomiting or diarrhea (24 hours symptom-free before returning), live lice, or unusual rashes. An absence longer than two days needs written communication to return.

Picture days

Makeup Picture Day is Jan 8, and sibling photos are taken then too. The backdrop is “Regal Blue,” so plan outfits accordingly.

Birthday goodie bags

Send sparingly, and they must not contain candy or any food. The school suggests stickers, pencils, bookmarks, or erasers.
